Creatures You'll Be Glad Are Extinct

Humans have only been preoccupying the earth for a sliver of time. Before us the planet was rules by huge predators and many different species. Many of this species that roamed millions of years ago are extinct now. We only know so much about them from researching fossils we've discovered. It's amazing what science can prove from our little findings. We can determine so much from color, size, how long ago the were here and much more. These creatures were so freighting. Learn more about them and I'm sure you'll agree with us that it's a good thing they don't exist anymore. 

Arthropleura

This creature lived on Earth 340 to 280 millions years ago. It was indigenous to Scotland and North America. The Arthropleura is known as the largest known invertebrate on land in all time. You can't tell from this photo but it would grow up to 9 feet in length. It would live off a diet of rotting forest plants.
