Talk about your politicians who break barriers and make ties! Recently two White House Officials who are openly gay were married, and they asked Joe Biden to officiate the ceremony. The two White House officials who were married by Biden were Brian Mosteller, who is the Director of Oval Office Operations and Joe Mashie, a Trip Coordinator for Michelle Obama.
"Proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house" Joe Biden commented on Twitter
"Couldn't be happier, two longtime White House staffers, two great guys." Joe Biden
The marriage came a year after the legalization of Gay Marriage by our government. Biden received a temporary certificate to marry the couple from the District of Columbia. For Biden this was no “malarkey”. Recently Biden also appeared on Law and Order where he commended the detective, whose character is played by Mariska Hargitay, for looking into backlogged rape cases. Biden is an avid advocate for Women’s Rights and has spoken at many universities where he discusses the controversial topic of epidemic sexual assault.
"I still care deeply about so many things so I’m going to be engaged" Joe Biden
Biden reported to ABC News that he has "no plan on saying goodbye" after President Obama retires from office. He is a true politician in every sense of the word, who combines hard work and effort for results and stands by what he believes in. Biden continues to be motivated by important national issues that he aims to address and see through with change.
"I’m going to be out there with a platform to talk about the things I care about. Foreign policy, violence against women and the inequity in the tax structure."
